ST. LOUIS, - Donna M. Erbs, marketing director at Anders Minkler & Diehl LLP was named the 2012 Marketer of the Year at the 18th annual Association for Accounting Marketing (AAM) Summit and Gala, held in Las Vegas in June.

AAM is the only trade association of its kind that provides resources and support to CPA and consulting firm marketing and sales professionals, partners, firm administrators, and representatives of businesses who offer products and services to the accounting industry. Initiated in 1989, the association now has more than 800 members representing firms of all sizes from local firms with two partners, to regional firms with 25 partners and "Big 4" firms with 3,000 partners. This year, for the first time, the conference was held in conjunction with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Practitioner and Tech Symposium, with 1600 people.

The Marketer of the Year Award is presented by CCH, a leading provider of information services software for the accounting and legal communities. Erbs was nominated for the award by Robert Minkler, Jr., the managing partner at AMD, and along with colleagues from firms in the Leading Edge Alliance (LEA), the international network of accounting firms AMD is affiliated with. Minkler, Lindsay Suelmann, AMD's marketing specialist and 40 LEA colleagues were in attendance for the honor.

"Achieving this national recognition for my work, especially as it relates to mentoring young professionals in business development strategies, introducing them to a marketing culture and helping them develop in savvy business people as well as great technicians, was just beyond words for me."

Other awards given out that night were for Rookie of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, AAM Hall of Fame and about 30 Marketing Achievement Awards. AMD has seven of the achievement awards from past years.
